Buyer guide · Pouch packing machine

From loose product to a sealed pouch on the shelf.

Moving from open, loose sale to proper branded packs is often the biggest step a small food business takes. Here is what a pouch packing machine actually does, in plain language.

Who runs thisNamkeen manufacturers, spice traders and packers, besan and flour packers, any small food processor moving from loose sale to branded retail packaging
Typical batchSmall automatic machines run roughly 30 to 100 pouches a minute, with fill sizes from as little as 0.5g up to 500g and above

The short version: get your product dry and ready, load the film and set the fill weight, let the machine form, fill and seal each pouch, then carton them for distribution.

The process

Six steps from finished product to sealed pouch.

Prepare the finished product

Your ground masala, dried namkeen or packed vermicelli should be ready for filling: dry and at the right temperature and moisture before it reaches the machine.

Load the film

Load the machine with roll film, the packaging material, which the machine automatically forms into a bag shape.

Set the fill weight

Adjust the machine from small sachets like 5g spice packets up to larger 500g and above pouches, depending on your product.

Form, fill and seal

The machine automatically forms the pouch, drops in the measured quantity of product, and seals it top, bottom and sides in one continuous cycle.

Date-code if needed

Sealed pouches drop out ready for a batch code or date stamp; many machines include a built-in date-coding unit.

Carton for distribution

Pack the sealed pouches into cartons or boxes for distribution to retail or wholesale.

Choosing the right machine

What actually matters.

A spice packer filling small sachets and a namkeen unit filling larger bags need very different machines.

  • What product and what pouch sizes do you need to pack?
  • How many pouches per minute do you realistically need?
  • Do you need date-coding built in?
  • What packaging film or material are you using?
  • How will this fit into your existing production flow, and what feeds into it?

Bring us these answers and we will help you find a pouch packing machine that matches your actual product and output, not just the biggest one available.
